Here at RNR Refinishing we have fully trained staff who perform caravan servicing to maintain hundreds of caravans, motorhomes and RVs each year. For peace of mind many of our clients also choose to get a safety check performed before they commence long touring trips.
During our caravan servicing process our qualified technicians will thoroughly assess all aspects of your electrical, braking and gas systems and will conduct underbody and suspension inspections. Should we find any issues over and above our standard routine service items, we will provide you with a detailed report stating the fault and what action should be taken now or in the near future.
Our caravan servicing includes:
- Checking wheel bearings, replacing seals and repacking with high quality grease (wheel bearings are replaced if needed at additional cost)
- Check A-Frame and chassis for cracks, damage and rust
- Lubricate grease points on coupling and suspension
- Check for tyre wear and condition of spare tyres including adjusting pressures
- Check and adjust the handbrake
- Check wheel rims for dents, damage or out of round
- Check water tank mounts and hoses
- Check operation of appliances
- Inspect hub/brake drums for wear, damage and scoring
- Check axle U bolts are torqued to manufacturers specification
- Check tail and clearance lights
- Lubricate any moving parts
- Brake system check including brake pads assessment, adjustment and de-dust
- Retighten wheel nuts to manufacturers specification
Additional servicing:
- Gas leak detection test – replacement of any faulty gas hoses from regulator
- Assess if ventilation meets required standards
- Check operation of gas isolation valve
- Gas regulator test (replace if required)
- Servicing of gas and electrical appliances (including stoves, ovens, air-conditioners etc)
- Carbon Monoxide detection testing
- Polarity check
- Electrical earthing assessment
- RCD or Circuit Breaker Test

Pre-holiday Safety inspections
Our regular caravan servicing clients prefer to make sure that their touring vehicle is in tip-top shape before heading off on their next adventure. For this reason, we offer pre-holiday inspections which include:
- Wheel bearings inspection – checking for leaking seals and excessive play in the wheel bearings (seal and wheel bearings replacement can be done if needed at an additional cost)
- Full suspension operation inspection (tightening if required)
- Chassis inspection
- Lubrication of coupling
- Checking correct tyre pressures and wear (including spare tyres)
- Handbrake adjustment
- Checking awning operation (realignment if required)
- Inspection condition and operation of side-clearance and tail lights
- General lubricate moving parts
- Brake system inspection (including brake pad condition assessment)
- Inspect operation of all appliances
